This permit of 6,955 acres is located in the region of Trois-Rivières, north of the St. Lawrence River. It is located close to the gas field of Pointe-du-Lac and one of the main geological objective of the area is in fact to find, a low depth inside the over-burden layer, accumulation of natural gas comparable to the field in Pointe-du-Lac. Located very close the Junex's permits in Bécancour/Champlain, the permit bloc of Trois-Rivières Ouest is also situated in a geological environment favourable to the development of the sedimentary layer of the Utica Shales.
